Other synthetic products
Atlantic Avitaillement also offers many accessories made from synthetic and natural rope, and accessories for the rope themselves: pilot ladders, cargo safety nets, fishing landing nets and rat guards.
EuropaRope also makes regulation pilot ladders with wooden and rubber steps, available in all sizes, as well as landing nets, protective nets and all synthetic rope slings. We also provide bags made from synthetic and natural materials for all your products. EuropaRope has a fitting service for synthetic and natural ropes, such as the creation of splices or loops with thimbles. We can also create loops with protected ends for hawser ropes according to your preference. We also have partnerships with international manufacturers that are leaders in their areas, such as Crosby and Mc Kissick, for the supply of shackles, safety hooks, swivels and more.
Just some of our products
Aboard large vessels, the pilot ladder lines the hull and is mainly used for moving from the pilot boat to the larger vessel, the pilot boat being a small boat used for transport from the port to a large vessel. The pilot ladder measures 5 metres and is composed of several wooden and rubber steps with a rope lateral surround, usually made from Manila-coloured polypropylene.
Cargo safety net
The safety net on a cargo ship or any other vessel is placed under the gangway ladder. The gangway ladder is a portable steel walkway that sits between the dock and the moored vessel. If someone should fall while crossing the gangway ladder, regulations require that the safety net be positioned directly underneath to limit the potential consequences.
Landing nets are used on fishing vessels or those carrying large fish to remove large catches from the vessel's hold before hoisting them and transferring them to another vessel or to the dock. Landing nets are square and made from polypropylene rope with loops featuring thimbles and sleeves on all four edges and corners so the net can be closed up and hoisted with a safety hook.
Rat guards are positioned along the length of the hawser or mooring rope in the dock. This is a metal circle pierced at its centre so the rope can pass through. The rat guard stops unwanted rodents from skirting along the rope and entering the vessel.
Synthetic materials like polypropylene, polyethylene and polyamide are not only used to make synthetic ropes but also all kinds of bags for packaging and transporting various items.
Synthetic rope slings
Synthetic rope slings have a variety of uses both on land and at sea. Dyneema synthetic slings are more resistant than those made from steel wire rope, polyamide, polypropylene or polyester, and synthetic slings are suited to any purpose where steel wire rope is not appropriate.
Synthetic sling savers
Synthetic sling savers with claw or ratchet are used for stowage during the transport of goods. These sling savers are usually made from polyester. Synthetic sling savers are very commonly used to tie down cargo inside and outside of heavy goods vehicles but also for farming, forestry, industrial lifting and marine activities.
