HR or High Resistance Chains
HR means high resistance.
These are manufactured using special very high-quality alloy steel and undergo special heat treatments called tempering and quenching.
These HR chains are normally used for fishing, industrial lifting, hoisting and agriculture.
Just some of the applications of the HR chain
- Fishing chain
- Tickler chain
- Lashing chain
A look at Crosby!
Crosby manufactures a range of forged, tempered and quenched steel chains in grade 100, Spectrum 10®, specially designed for industrial lifting and related applications.
Each link is branded with the initials CG (Crosby Group) and the number 10 (Grade 100). This chain is of an exceptionally high quality with a black finish and heat treatment.
Four other types of chain are available:
► The Crosby Proof Coil Spectrum 3®: steel chain in galvanised carbon without surface coating. Each link is stamped with CG3, meaning Crosby Group Grade 3. Minimum breaking load equal to 4 times the WLL.
► The Crosby High Test Spectrum 4®: steel chain in carbon without surface coating. Each link is stamped with CG4, meaning Crosby Group Grade 4. Minimum breaking load equal to 3 times the WLL.
► The Crosby Transport Spectrum 7®: steel chain in HR carbon with surface coating. Each link is stamped with CG7, meaning Crosby Group Grade 7. Minimum breaking load equal to 4 times the WLL.
► The Crosby Alloy Spectrum 8®: steel or HR carbon, grade 80. Minimum breaking load equal to 2 times the WLL.
► The Crosby Alloy Spectrum 10®: steel or HR carbon, grade 100! 25% more resistant than grade 80. Minimum breaking load equal to 2 times the WLL.
A look at… Trawlex
The Trawlex® chain is a true force of nature!
The real challenge for any new rigging equipment is withstanding the harsh conditions of its environment. The new Profile Chain® from Trawlex® was designed to meet these challenges.
While other fishing chains meet grade 80 at best, the Trawlex® fishing chain is available in grade 95 and with 3 heat treatments. Exceeding normal manufacturing standards, this chain is the best there is in terms of resistance against corrosion and fatigue.
The Trawlex® fishing chain is the only chain in the world to feature 2 link profiles: the classic round link and the exclusive Profile Chain. To reduce wear and tear, the Profile Chain link is more squared to offer a greater surface load-bearing capacity from link to link.
